Showers and a Growing Belly

Well I'm at 34 weeks and doing well. I went to the doctor last Wednesday though and about freaked out when he told me that I had gained 8 pounds in 2 weeks! I have not been gaining much (I'm trying hard to keep it down) so when I hadn't changed my eating habits and gained 8 lbs I started crying in the room with Steve. Then I looked down and saw that giant sausages had replaced what were formerly my feet. I was bummed. But luckily when the doctor came in, he explained that most of my weight gain was probably from water retention. That made me feel a little better. So I am battling a little water retention but other than that, we are doing well.
Well the following pictures are from the last 2 showers I have had out here. Two gals from church threw me a church shower on May 17 and then my room mom got together with some other moms in my class and threw me a surprise shower on May 22. Both were awesome.

Some of the ladies that came to my shower.

The food table. We had a graham cracker, marshmallow, and fruit chocolate fondue, along with cake and punch. Yummy!

The cake. One of the gals that threw the shower was not happy about what she called the "butt shaped pee stain" in the corner. I thought it was cute.

The present table. We are blessed!

The centerpieces. Cute!

Side view of the centerpieces.

One game we played was "guess what was in the diaper." Here is Ashley about to take a little sample. I think she wanted to win this one bad. :)

After each game, I got a present along with the winner. Here are some burp clothes.

Getting into a basket of laundry goodies.

This is a diaper wreath another creative lady at church made me. Plus a few toys for decoration.

A very cute homemade bib a lady at our church makes.

Showing off some cute onsies.

These next pictures are from my surprise shower at school.

Some balloons they bought me.

One mom had the idea to give the kids ring pops to use as 'pacifiers.' Here are some kids showing off theirs.

Some more 'babies.' :)

Some more kids using their 'pacifiers.'

This is the basket of goodies the families from my classroom put together for my shower. It was so sweet of them!!

Here's a close up of the belly. Steve thought taking this would be funny.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Hello All! Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've gotten in trouble by Angela again. She wants more photos! :) I can't say I blame her, I'm constantly checking
theirs too. It's a great way to keep in touch with family. Anyway, I've been waiting to post until something interesting happens and now I guess since I'm "showing" I can post some of those photos.
I also wanted to post some photos of my first Mother's day. I didn't mention anything to Steve about Mother's Day coming up because I wanted to see if he
thought this was really my first Mother's Day and see if he was going to do
something for me. So I got to church and people kept saying "Happy Mother's Day" to me. Well I didn't realize how important it was to me or how much I wanted Steve
to recognize it until others kept telling me and he hadn't yet. I was so emotional
about it and almost cried every time someone told me. Well, after Steve sat down at the beginning of the service he leaned over and said "Happy Mommy's Day. It's your first - you're a mommy," and I started bawling right there in church. I had to
end up leaving and getting myself together. Then he said he was going to take me out to eat anywhere I wanted to go. Just the acknowledgement was enough for me, but then he came home to pick me up and take me out to eat and had the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and the perfect card - which  made me cry - AGAIN. It
was a big tearful day for me. So we went out to eat - Olive Garden - um- and it was the perfect day. He made me feel so special and really like a mommy. During
pregnancy you get so used to just saying you're "pregnant" and you're going to have
a baby, but this was the first time, really, that the word "mommy" was attached to it and it was SO special for me.
Anyway, I am 32 weeks along (beginning my 8th month already!) and things are
going great. I feel wonderful and the baby is moving lots! I LOVE that feeling and am really going to  miss it. Steve and I can sit and watch the baby moving around - mostly rolling, but some kicking too. Steve even got to feel it when the baby had hiccups last. It was neat! I am so enjoying this process. It's truly a blessing from
God. On a different note, I have already had 1 shower and have a few more coming in the next month so be looking for pictures of those too.
    Enjoy the pics. :)

Me in my maternity clothes for the first time - 29 weeks. Steve picked this top out. I actually love it. :)

Another pose in the new digs.
